Directions to Willow Springs

Willow Springs is just West of Rosamond, CA. From Los Angeles, you take I-5 North to the CA-14 North, take the Rosamond off-ramp. If you need gas, take a right and it's 1 block down on the right. The track, however is to the left a few miles. You'll see a sign that says "Streets of Willow Springs Track" and I believe one that mentions the Dirt Oval track. You don't take that right, you take the *next* right, at which there's another sign for Willow Springs. Proceed to the track check-in shack. From the shack, go straight up the road you're already on until it dead-ends into a green wall. This is the hot-pit wall. Turn right, and proceed until you pass all the buildings on your right. Once past them, you're in the pit area. Find a spot to pit for the day.

Lodging and Food near Willow Springs

Note: There is a snack bar at the track with hamburgers and the basics.

Food wise, your choices in Rosamond are pretty much fast food or fast food. While I've only eaten at the Taco Bell and McDonald's in Rosamond, I did hear a rumor that someone once had a good time at "Villa Basque" (which I believe is a sit-down place).

Lancaster is about 25 minutes from the track, and your best bet if you're looking for a nicer place to stay. Our host hotel is the Inn of Lancaster, located at 44131 Sierra Highway, Lancaster, CA 93534 ( For reservations, call (800) 406-0466. Please state that you are with Speed Ventures to get a discount!

Your dining choices in Lancaster are a lot more varied, and I must say I had an excellent pizza at Pizza Hut the last time I was there, though I think I was just really hungry. There are 156 restaurants in Lancaster, and I hear that "Coaches" is actually a pretty good place, though I haven't been.
