Information on Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca
What can we say: Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca is an institution. This iconic, historic track is always worth traveling to from far away; it's so much fun, and unlike any other on the West Coast.
Comprised of just 11 turns spread out across 2.23 miles, it's got immense elevation changes, great reference curbing, a good mix of on- and off-camber sections, plus more than a handful of tricky corners. Plus, who can forget its most Turn of them all: The Corkscrew, which kicks off a five-and-a-half story drop down towards the final corner. After a complete repave in 2023, this gorgeous stretch of tarmac has a lot of grip, too, which adds to its overall appeal for sure.
As it's nestled between the Santa Lucia Mountain ranges and the Salinas Valley foothills, there are breathtaking views around the entire circuit. In fact, if you intend on making a week or weekend out of your trip to Laguna Seca, squeeze in some time for hiking and cycling in the area—the track's in a state park, after all.
Location-wise, Laguna Seca is located on the Monterey Peninsula. By car, its an hour from Santa Cruz, two hours from San Francisco, three-and-a-half hours from Sacramento, and five hours from Los Angeles.

Part of the appeal of running at Laguna Seca are the nearby towns of Monterey and Salinas. The heart of Monterey is only a 20 minute drive West, and offers a massive variety of hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, outdoor activities, and other general vacation-town amenities.
When it comes to bars, restaurants, and cafes, we particularly dig, check out: Turn 12 in Monterey, Old Monterey Cafe, German Restaurant Stammtisch in Seaside, East Village Cafe in Monterey, Grotto Fish Market on Fisherman's Wharf, and the Salty Seal along Cannery Row in Monterey. But really, there's so much to choose from that you'll surely find whatever type of food you're got a taste for.
Be sure to check out the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, too! If you're in town for more than a couple of days, pay a visit to Pacific Grove, Del Monte Forest (where California's famous Pebble Beach lies), Carmel-By-The-Sea, Sand City, and Seaside. Big Sur is directly to the South along Pacific Coast Highway as well.
Salinas is to the East of Laguna Seca and offers a good variety of dining and hotel options, plus is the home of the National Steinbeck Center, a museum dedicated to the life of this famous American author.
