Located less than 30 minutes north of the Las Vegas Strip near Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a gem of a motorsports facility. When Speed Ventures comes to town, we run what is not only its most underrated circuit, but also one of the most underrated circuits in the Southwest: The Outside Road Course.
This track has it all: Tight, technical sections, fast straightaways, slight elevation changes, smooth curbing, and a grippy surface tying it all together. The paddock is quite large, and the main building offers rest rooms, air conditioned main room, and a large awning to seek refuge from the hot desert sun. While there isn't much in terms of grandstands for spectators, the track is generally flat, so most of its corners are easy to watch from behind the fence. Food trucks are often on-location during our events, though this is subject to change based on attendance.

Lodging and Food Near Las Vegas Motor Speedway
While there's no shortage of top-shelf dining and hotel accommodations throughout the greater Los Vegas area, this particular corner is a bit quieter. A Motel 6 sits on the opposite side of the highway, and a handful of inexpensive two- and three-star chain establishments are 15 minutes down the highway towards the Strip. If you're staying on the Strip, be sure to factor in the amount of time it takes to navigate through its massive parking structures.
Food-wise, there are two large truck stop/gas stations nearby, however, you'll have to head south down the highway for something with a bit more sustenance.
