IMPORTANT: If you would like to run Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun, or All 3 Days, please sign up for the other days you want and write a note in the comments box (Step 8) stating that you wish to add Saturday as well (you will not be able to sign up for a Saturday-only spot). Friday-only and Sunday-only (and Fri/Sun) spots ARE available.
NOTE: The Sound Limit for this event is 105db. Cars running over 105db will not be allowed to run. Refunds or credits will not be given for cars that do not pass sound.
SPECIAL EVENT: Speed Ventures is hosting the REFUEL Alternative Vehicle Demonstration on Sunday June 30, 2013. We will have one or two regular car run groups available that day. The rest of the day will be made available for electric cars and motorcycles. Information and registration for REFUEL can be found at www.refuelraces.com.
WARNING: The SOUND LIMIT for this event is 105db and it is strictly enforced at MAZDA Raceway Laguna Seca. Most cars should make this sound limit, but please do not expect your straight-pipe car to necessarily pass. If your car is running at 105.1db or higher you will not be allowed to run and we will not provide a refund or credit. Please call to discuss if you have a question about your car.
SPECIAL FUEL NOTICE: MAZDA Raceway has race fuel, but they occasionally run out and sometimes the pumps do not work. If having unleaded race fuel is critical, be sure to make arrangements for a backup source.
MAZDA Raceway Laguna Seca Raceway is located at 1021 Monterey-Salinas Highway, Salinas CA 93908.
ENTRANCE FEE: There is a $10 per person entrance fee for all non-registered drivers. Registered drivers will be automatically put on a list at the gate and do not have to pay the entrance fee. All family, friends, crew, spectators must pay the $10 per weekend entrance fee. Please make sure your guests save their wristbands for re-entry if they are coming back for a second day.
EVENT SCHEDULE: We will schedule 6 run groups running all day from 9am to 6:30pm. Each group will get 4 sessions scheduled (3@25min and 1@20min). This will mean longer than usual wait times between sessions, so please bring a book or an ipad or a game of Twister to entertain yourself.
The day will run smoothest for you if you show up at the track by 7:00am. Check-in will begin at 7:05am and end at 8:00am. Our drivers meeting will start at around 8:10. This meeting is MANDATORY for all drivers unless you have received prior clearance to miss it. Cars go on track at 9:00. PLEASE SHOW UP AT REGISTRATION BY 7:30am or you will miss your first run session of the day.
The daily schedules for this event will not be established until later. We will have schedules for you at the track and they will be emailed out a couple days before the event.
EARLY UNLOADING on Thursday is available from 6pm to 7:30pm only. The gates will be locked at 8pm and no one is allowed to stay overnight in the paddock. Early arrivals (or late arrivals who miss the 7:30pm cutoff) can park/drop their trailers in the lakebed area or in the dirt outside of turn 5 (these areas are accessed at the round-about/t-intersection).
CAMPING/OVERNIGHT STAY is NOT allowed in the paddock area for this event, although you may leave your cars, trailers, and equipment in the paddock overnight. Camping is allowed in the Laguna Seca campgrounds just up the hill. Campsites there can be booked through the Monterey County Parks Department. RV hookups are available.
FOOD & WATER: A snack bar will be open for this event. A water dispenser will also be provided. Please bring your own bottle to refill at the track. You must have car NUMBERS, at least 8” tall, located on both sides AND the back of your vehicle. This is mandatory for all cars. You can make up a 3-digit number (no 1's and only one 7 allowed in the number) - we will notify you if it is in use by another driver at the track.
TOW HOOKS/TOW POINTS that are strong and can be pulled from multiple angles are highly recommended. If you do not have a tow hook on the front and rear of your car, please have one installed or figure out a tow point (for both front and rear) that we can use to pull you out of deep sand from difficult angles. Speed Ventures will not be responsible for damage done to your car due to the towing process - this is part of the risk you assume when participating in a Speed Ventures event. Due to the deep sand in the traps and the need to occasionally tow from difficult angles, tow points are critical for this event.
